The Hotel Rex is a sophisticated 94-room boutique hotel, centrally located in the fashionable Union Square restaurant and theatre district and within walking distance to the Financial District and Moscone Convention Center. Dedicated to the arts and literary spirit of San Francisco, the hotel's atmosphere is reminiscent of the 1920's salon society, with restored period furnishings, original artwork, hand-painted lamps, and antiquarian books. Uniquely designed guest rooms feature custom amenities for the business and leisure traveler including cordless two-line telephones with voicemail, and data ports, writing desks, Hair dryers, bathrobes, ironing centers, CD players, Aveda bath products, and fully stocked refrigerators and honour bars.
The Hotel Rex also offers a business center, complimentary newspapers, concierge services, valet parking, access to Club One fitness center, and complimentary sedan service in the morning to the Financial District. The Hotel also offers a unique Lobby Bar & Café with a complimentary evening wine hour nightly. Meeting room and in-house catering services also available. In Spring 2003, the Hotel Rex will complete a $2 million hotel renovation and seismic retrofit which will include the lobby, guestrooms, a new business center with hi-speed Internet access, an executive boardroom, and an exciting new restaurant, Café Andrée.
There are 94 guestrooms, including eight King Executive Rooms, and two one-bedroom suites. Each is decorated with custom wall coverings, fresh fabrics, hand-painted lampshades and the work of local artisans. All guestrooms feature a two-line cordless phone with voicemail and dataport, cable TV, pay-per-view movies, CD player, honor bar, mini-refridgerator, writing desk, bathrobes, iron and electronic lock. Non-smoking rooms are available.
Corporate meetings, wedding receptions, rehearsal dinners, showers, brunches, literary events and private parties have all been hosted at the Hotel Rex. With state-of-the-art lighting, the Hotel Rex can create different moods, from professional to intimate and romantic. Three areas are available to host a special event or meeting with complete in-house catering services. The Salon is a unique and opulent space and features individual climate control, a state-of-the-art lighting system, skylights offering natural lighting, and full audio-visual services. The Salon can accommodate up to 130 people. For intimate meetings of fewer than 10 attendees there are two one-bedroom "Artists Suites" available. Each suite is over 800 square feet, perfect for small corporate conferences, as breakout rooms or as production offices.The Rexroth Room (opening April 1st) can accommodate meetings for up to 12 people.
