The Golden Tulip Doelen situated on the river Amstel, right in the centre of Amsterdam, is more than just a hotel. The Golden Tulip Doelen portrays a life-style reflecting the middle 1800's when famous and infamous guests were made to feel at ease in the majestic surroundings. Recently refurbished, the hotel consists of 1 roof top suite, 5 salons, 80 fully equipped business class hotel rooms, 4 meeting rooms and a Scottish Pub & Restaurant "The Balmoral". Great care has been taken to preserve the unique decor, where the main entrance hall and reception are crowned by the beautiful open staircase leading to the hotel rooms. Original and lovingly restored furniture is still to be found throughout the hotel.
All 85 hotel rooms are equipped with desk, telephone (dataport), television (in-house movie), mini bar, coffee and tea making facilities, trouser press and Hair dryer.
The Scottish Pub & Restaurant "The Balmoral" is the place to meet. The Balmoral can seat 60 persons. Enjoy one of the Scottish specialties or make a choice of one of the 100 Single Malt Whiskey's. "The Balmoral" is open daily from 17.00 till 00.00 hours, and the kitchen is open until 22.30 hours.

The 4 meeting rooms are not only perfect examples of the original architecture, but are also fully equipped to meet the needs of the present day guests. The Kloveniers room (Cavaliers room) is the ideal location for your special banqueting needs and can be joined with the Schutters room and the Savarin Room. The Savarin room provides wonderful views of the Amstel river and gives access to the hotel's private landing stage. The salon boat Paradis is moored on the river and her captain is always ready to sail you through the canals for cocktails or even dinner aboard.
