The Hotel Arena is situated on the edge of Amsterdam's historical centre, with the peaceful Oosterpark right next door and the Artis Zoo and the Ethnological museum just a short walk away. Hotel Arena is easily reached both by car and public transport and there is a parking area on the grounds.
Formerly a Roman Catholic Orphanage with adjoining chapel, the building in which Hotel Arena is located, dates from 1890. Monumental staircases, long corridors with high ceilings and original murals give the historical complex it's unique atmosphere.
These days the complex is home to a hotel, a cafe-restaurant and a club. Guests spend the night in stylish decorated rooms, where once the large dormitories of the orphanage were located.
The former chapel with its classic atmosphere has become one of Amsterdam's hottest dance-floors, and at the heart of the building you will find the cafe and restaurant with its sunny terrace and beautiful garden, a true meeting place for travellers, business people and locals.
The Hotel offers 121 guest rooms, all with private bathroom, television and telephone. The rooms at Hotel Arena vary in size and shape and are all decorated differently. They are characterised by a simple, stylish interior consisting of original roof-beams, wooden floors, warm colours and famous international and Dutch designed furniture from the Sixties by Gispen, Eames, Cassini and Martin Visser.
