The Seven One Seven offers the discerning business and leisure traveller all the grandeur of a classical 19th century guesthouse with all the modern conveniences to which one is entitled. Each guest is welcomed in an atmosphere of cordiality and full respect for complete privacy and comfort in this unique boutique hotel along the canal.
The magnificent facade of the house, a listed historical building with dark green shutters, merely provides a hint of the beauty of the interior. The front of the Seven One seven opens to an old marble hallway, from which an oak stairway leads to two splendid grand suites overlooking the 17th century Prinsengracht canal in front of the house, and to six spacious suites and rooms at the back overlooking two patios.
The patios have been handsomely fitted with tables and comfortable armchairs where one can enjoy breakfast, afternoon tea or drinks at leisure under the lush foliage of an old maple tree.
Each of the eight luxuriously appointed suites and rooms were individually designed and have a style of their own which has been achieved by blending the old with the new. All rooms feature colourful walls and windows, lined and draped in contrasting wall-papers and fabrics. Furthermore they are furnished with carefully selected antique and contemporary pieces such as beautiful sofas, oversized easy chairs, refined tables and cabinets and are decorated with modern and classical art.
Needless to say, each room boasts a fully equipped bathroom, refreshment cabinet, safe deposit box, TV, radio, DVD and CD-player, outlets for computers and individually controllable heating. Ample bouquets of beautiful Dutch flowers in season grace the entire house.
The two spacious suites at the front of the house are fitted with five tall, wide windows that offer breathtaking views of the tree-lined canal and the architecture on the opposite side.
The six large suites and rooms at the back of the house overlook the charming patios and reveal the backs of the fascinating gabled houses of Holland's 17th century Golden Age. The top floor room offers stunning views of the spires of the Rijksmuseum and the 16th century Montalbaans tower near the old port.
Breakfast is served in the privacy of one's room, in the ground floor Strawinsky room, and in summer outside on the patios. In the Strawinsky room, the daylight flows between tasteful Irish tweed curtains lining the five French doors on to magnificent paintings, a grand piano and the munificently laid tables, guaranteeing a unique and relaxing start of the day.
The ambiance of the lounges and patio room create a perfect setting for private luncheons and dinners from 12 to 26 people.
For business travelers Seven One Seven offers the added advantage of a prestigious conference room called The Library. The room, which overlooks the canal, accommodates up to 6 persons and offers the elegant ambiance necessary for successful business meetings.
The Seven One Seven is ideally located in the heart of Amsterdam and is within walking distance of the Concertgebouw, the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh museum and the Municipal Museum of Modern Art for which Amsterdam is so justly renowned. Moreover, just around the corner you will find a wealth of trend setting galleries, the famous Spiegelstraat, antiques quarter, and many cinemas, bars and fine restaurants.
After a day of demanding business meetings or exploring the wonderful city, guests are offered tea, cakes and drinks which can be enjoyed in one's room, in the lounges and on the patio outside.
